Mission:

Shore Presbyterian Church is an authentic worshipping community being transformed by the Gospel so that through the grace of God we are bringing spiritual and physical renewal and hope to the Eastern Shore and beyond.

Values:

Gospel Centrality

The Gospel changes everything; therefore the message of man’s rebellion and God’s redemption and the fact that sinners are forgiven and acceptable before God solely because of the completed work of Jesus Christ must be central to everything we think, feel, and do. (II Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 2:8-10;  John 14:6)

Authenticity

As a redeemed community, we must be authentic in our life and worship.  As we interact with each other and those in the community, we must be honest about our struggles, sins, and weaknesses, so that we may see the grace of God at work in the lives of those around us.  In our independent society, authenticity shows us that we are dependent on God and others. (Psalm 139)

Prayer

The church must be a community whose life blood is the prayers of its members.  Everything we do must be sustained in prayer.  In our independent society, prayer shows us that we are dependent on God. (Colossians 4:2-4; Ephesians 3:14-21; James 5:13-18)

Kingdom Living

As a worshiping community we must embrace the fact that we are a redeemed people whose purpose is to “glorify God and enjoy him forever.”  We must recognize that this is an attitude which penetrates our every action.  In this purpose we find great joy and delight as we seek the glory of God in every aspect of our lives. (Colossians 4:5-6)

Cultural Renewal

As we seek to live as a redeemed people, we also seek to see this redemption brought into our surrounding culture.  We want to see the hope of the Gospel brought to our towns on the Eastern Shore, impacting and changing the everyday lives of the people who live here.
